In a media landscape that's continually objectifying toward female artists, musician/actress/model Sky Ferreira responded to a particularly sexist profile about her through Twitter on Monday.

A profile appeared in LA Weekly last Friday called "Sky Ferreira's sex appeal is what pop music needs right now," which among various offenses, credits Ferreira's success entirely to sex appeal (instead of actual artistic talent). The article also includes generally creepy descriptions such as "cherubic" and "like a freshly licked lollipop."

It didn't take long for the article to be roundly called out as sexist, and the editor has since apologized for "crossing a line." Ferreira responded on Twitter, not only to the LA Weeklyprofile, but to speak to the larger way the media talks about her and the profile being just an extreme example.
